He emphasized Azerbaijan's role as the President of COP29, pledging to mediate between the Global South and Global North in the ongoing climate discussions. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan's leadership capabilities, referencing the country's successful chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement, which is recognized as the second largest international institution within the United Nations. This experience, he noted, positions Azerbaijan to effectively facilitate dialogue and cooperation among the 120 countries involved in the movement.
