Beijing: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Song Hailiang, Chairman of the Board of China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited ('Energy China'), during his visit to Beijing. The meeting focused on ongoing and potential projects in Azerbaijan. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited is involved in several projects in Azerbaijan, including a 1-gigawatt offshore wind energy project in the Caspian Sea. The company has also invested in solar energy projects in the Fuzuli district. Song Hailiang presented proposals for further collaboration, particularly in energy corridors. President Aliyev emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership with Energy China. The meeting also covered discussions on a long-term joint energy planning project, for which a document was signed during President Aliyev's state visit to China. The discussions included the possible establishment of an energy research center in Azerbaijan and collaboration in wat er management. Energy China's expertise extends to renewable energy, hydrogen energy, energy storage, and large-scale power grid construction. The corporation operates 256 branches in 147 countries, with 416 ongoing projects, and commands a 50% share of China's renewable energy market.
