Baku: In his speech at the opening ceremony of COP29, President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the accusations made against Azerbaijan, APA reports. The head of state addressed the gathered leaders and delegates, shedding light on the recent allegations directed at his country. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev pointed out that two years ago, Azerbaijan and the European Commission entered into a Declaration on strategic partnership in the field of energy. He emphasized that this partnership was not initiated by Azerbaijan but was rather a proposal from the European Commission. President Aliyev recalled that the President of the European Commission had traveled to Baku to sign the document, as there was a need for Azerbaijani gas. This statement underscores Azerbaijan's role as a key energy provider and highlights the mutual interests involved in such international agreements.
