Baku: On October 31, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of Besart Kadia, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania. The ambassador presented his credentials to the head of state and engaged in a conversation to discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries. According to Azeri-Press news agency, President Aliyev highlighted the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Albania, acknowledging the reciprocal visits by the Presidents of both nations and the Albanian Prime Minister's visit to Azerbaijan. These visits were noted as pivotal in strengthening the ties. The President mentioned that the Albanian Prime Minister would be participating in COP29 soon, which underscores the close partnership between the two nations. He also appreciated Albania's support for Azerbaijan's stance in international organizations where Azerbaijan is not represented. Ambassador Kadia conveyed greetings from Al banian Prime Minister Edi Rama to President Aliyev. In response, President Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and requested Besart Kadia to pass on his regards to the Prime Minister of Albania. Ambassador Kadia expressed his eagerness to begin his duties in Azerbaijan and emphasized the importance of friendship and cultural ties between the two countries. He reaffirmed Albania's support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and praised Azerbaijan's preparations for COP29. The discussion also covered economic cooperation in areas such as energy, transport, trade, and tourism, with both sides expressing optimism for the continued strengthening of bilateral relations in the future.
