Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of Ivan Vangu Ngimbi, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The ambassador presented his credentials to the head of state, marking the beginning of his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan. According to Azeri-Press news agency, President Ilham Aliyev engaged in a conversation with Ambassador Ivan Vangu Ngimbi, emphasizing the importance of invigorating bilateral relations across multiple sectors. While acknowledging the commendable level of political relations, President Aliyev noted the need for enhanced efforts in the trade and economic domains. He also commended the successful collaboration between Azerbaijan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo within international organizations, particularly the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement, expressing optimism for continued partnership. Ambassador Ivan Vangu Ngimbi conveyed greetings from Felix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and congratulated President Aliyev on Azerbaijan's successful chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement. In response, President Aliyev expressed gratitude and requested that his regards be communicated to President Tshisekedi. The ambassador highlighted ongoing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in various sectors, including education, banking, finance, mining, and security. He also extended congratulations to Azerbaijan for hosting COP29, noting that the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo would participate in the event. President Aliyev welcomed the participation of the Congolese President in the upcoming COP29.
