President Ilham Aliyev’s Leadership and Strategy Define Azerbaijan’s Historic Victory

Baku: The world continues to be shaken by numerous conflicts, clashes, and wars. Whether in the Middle East, Europe, or Asia, ongoing processes once again show that wars often do not conclude with a definitive outcome; in some cases, they remain unfinished or take on new forms over time. Moreover, modern wars have a more complex nature under the influence of political, economic, and information technologies.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Azerbaijan's historic victory, however, can be considered a positive exception. During the 44-day Patriotic War, the Azerbaijan Army demonstrated an exemplary combat strategy for the entire world. This war was a manifestation of patience, political diplomacy, and the will of the people.

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, also spoke about Azerbaijan's historic victory during his speech at the inauguration ceremony of a residential complex built in the village of Sugovushan, Aghdara district. He emphasized the strategic importance of liberating Sugovushan, highlighting the heroism and self-sacrifice of Azerbaijani servicemen. The liberation of this village marked a turning point in the conflict, providing significant strategic advantages.

Throughout history, wars did not always result in the absolute dominance of the victors. Even after World War II, while peace and stability were established in many regions, in some cases, the outcome was relative. However, the Azerbaijani state and army conducted the war in full compliance with the principles of international law, restoring state sovereignty and resolving the long-standing Garabagh conflict. This achievement is seen as a significant milestone in global military history.

President Ilham Aliyev, addressing this issue in his speech in Sugovushan, stated that Azerbaijan's victory was both unambiguous and complete, underscoring the strength of the Azerbaijani state and the resolve of its people. This victory stands out in comparison to other conflicts that have remained unresolved or transformed over time.

Rizvan Nabiyev, a member of the Milli Majlis Committee on Defence, Security, and Counter-Corruption, credited the skillful military and diplomatic strategies of President Ilham Aliyev for ending the occupation of Azerbaijani lands. He emphasized the new political and geopolitical reality that emerged in the region, which is based on international law, and serves as a foundation for future cooperation and development.

Under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan's achievements highlight the concept of a strong state led by a strong leader. His personal involvement in key processes, deep understanding of issues, and strategic decision-making have solidified Azerbaijan's political stability and international standing.

According to Rizvan Nabiyev, President Ilham Aliyev's leadership during military operations and his defense of Azerbaijan's rightful position are subjects of study worldwide. The strategic operations in the Garabagh War, particularly in Shusha and Hadrut, are being analyzed for their effectiveness.

For many years, Armenia constructed extensive fortifications, which Azerbaijan's military managed to overcome through advanced military technologies and tactics. President Ilham Aliyev's speech in Sugovushan highlighted the challenges faced and overcome by the Azerbaijani forces, including external pressures and fortified enemy positions.

Rizvan Nabiyev noted that myths about impenetrable Armenian defenses were shattered during the war, and Azerbaijan's victory was a testament to well-thought-out policies and strategic communication on the international stage. The current phase emphasizes regional integration and the importance of steps towards cooperation under new conditions.
