President of India arrives in Turkmenistan on a state visit

The President of the Republic of India, Ram Nath Kovind, arrived on the first ever state visit to Turkmenistan.

At the international airport of Ashgabat, decorated with the national flags of the two countries, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met the head of India.

During the solemn welcoming ceremony, the leaders of the two countries walked around the guard of honor soldiers and paid tribute to the State Flag of Turkmenistan. After that, the motorcade of the distinguished guest, accompanied by an honorary escort of motorcyclists, left for the Yildyz (Star) hotel.

It is expected that during the current high-level talks in Ashgabat, a wide range of issues of mutual interest will be discussed, as well as a package of bilateral documents aimed at developing the Turkmen-Indian partnership, strengthening trust and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries will be signed. During the meeting, it is planned to discuss the priority tasks of expanding cooperation, including the implementation of new promising projects of both bilateral and regional significance.
