President of Kyrgyz Republic, Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Arrives in Turkmenistan for State Visit

The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sooronbay Jeenbekov, has arrived this morning in Turkmenistan for a state visit.

Officials welcomed the distinguished guest at the Ashgabat International Airport decorated with the state flags of Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic. In honor of the distinguished guest, the Guard of Honor lined up along the red carpet running from the presidential plane.

The motorcade of the President of Kyrgyzstan was escorted from the airport to the Independence Square, where President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov cordially welcomed his colleague.

The official welcome ceremony for President Sooronbay Jeenbekov took place at the square.

The national anthems of the Kyrgyz Republic and Turkmenistan were played. Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Sooronbay Jeenbekov inspected the Guard of Honor. The Turkmen leader introduced to the guest the members of the official delegation of our country and the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan. The President of Kyrgyzstan introduced to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the members of the Government delegation of his country.

Then the motorcade of the presidents of the two countries, accompanied by the Ahalteke cavalry escort of honor, proceeded to the Oguzhan Presidential Palace Complex.

One-on-one bilateral talks began here after the official picture-taking ceremony against the state flags of Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.

The agenda covers a wide range of issues of interstate cooperation, with trade and economics, energy, transport and several other spheres being among priority areas.
