The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, within the framework of his official visit to the Russian Federation, met with the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia.
Sadyr Japarov and Valentina Matviyenko exchanged views on a number of topical issues of Kyrgyzstan — Russia cooperation, including the development of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries.
According to the head of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the talks between the heads of the two countries were very fruitful, meaningful and constructive in terms of the agreements reached to further deepen the strategic partnership and alliance between the two states.
She assured Sadyr Japarov that the senators «are ready to do everything necessary to promote this cause», and also expressed gratitude to the President of Kyrgyzstan for participating in the events dedicated to the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which underlines the special spirit of relations between the peoples of Russia and Kyrgyzstan and the unity of states in preserving the memory of the heroic deeds of their ancestors.
Valentina Matviyenko emphasized that the Russian-Kyrgyz friendship, which has passed the test of the war, is a reliable foundation for strengthening multifaceted cooperation.
Sadyr Japarov, in turn, noted that the Russian Federation is one of the main partners of the Kyrgyz Republic.
«We always meet with Russian colleagues with great pleasure, we always find full understanding on all issues. Thanks to a rich political dialogue, positive dynamics in the development of Kyrgyz-Russian relations are maintained,» he said.
The President of the Kyrgyz Republic highly appreciated the role of parliamentary diplomacy as an important foreign policy resource in maintaining and strengthening bilateral interstate relations.
