President of Turkmenistan and King of Bahrain held talks in Ashgabat

In Ashgabat, talks were held between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a state visit.

In the course of one-on-one negotiations and in an expanded composition of delegations, the parties discussed issues of expanding bilateral partnership, as well as interaction within international organizations. The parties noted the similarity or proximity of positions on topical aspects of international politics, issues of peace, security and sustainable development.

The leaders of the two countries paid special attention to the expansion of trade and economic partnership. Among the priority areas listed here are the fuel and energy and transport and transit areas, the chemical industry, agriculture, construction, processing and other industries.

At the end of the talks, the signing ceremony of bilateral documents took place in the presence of the President of Turkmenistan and the King of Bahrain.

Following the state visit of the King of Bahrain to Turkmenistan, a joint statement was adopted.

After the signing ceremony, the two leaders made statements to the media. During the briefing, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced the award of the King of Bahrain Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa with the order Bitaraplyk (Neutrality) – for the continued support of foreign policy and legal status of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, as well as for personal contribution to the development and strengthening of friendly relations Turkmenistan and Bahrain.
