President of Turkmenistan and President of Tajikistan discuss bilateral partnership priorities

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held talks with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, who arrived in Ashgabat to attend a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State.

In the continuation of the meeting, Berdimuhamedov and Rahmon discussed the priorities of interstate cooperation, paying particular attention to issues of enhancing trade and economic partnership.

A separate topic of discussion was cooperation in the transport and communications sector, which is due to the favorable geographical position and transit capabilities of the two states. The parties also exchanged views on a number of issues of regional and international politics of mutual interest.
