Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has attended the grand opening of the fashionable Arkadag Hotel, built in the south of the white marble-clad capital of Turkmenistan, which grows more and more beautiful.
Spectacular musical performances began in front of the hotel complex. Renowned performing groups and popular singers of the country demonstrated their musical prowess.
There came the crowning moment: to loud applause of the ceremony participants, the head of state cut a symbolic ribbon to open the Arkadag Hotel. At that very moment, colorful balloons were released into the sky.
Built by French company Bouygues Batiment International on the Ashgabat City Khyakimlik’s order, the Arkadag Hotel really impresses with its original design and modern architectural solutions. The semi-circle shaped complex covers an area of more than 220,000 square meters.
The 14-story hotel is 76.5 meters high. It consists of a 290-meter-long central building with two adjoining wings (134-meter-long each).
A kitchen building shaped like a traditional Ak Öý yurt stands out as well.
President of Turkmenistan proceeded to the first floor of the hotel and left a memorable note in the Distinguished Visitors’ Book.
... The head of state and the ceremony attendees left the building and proceeded to the venue in front of the hotel to attend the concert by performing artists.
The songs ‘Türkmeni Arsa Göteren Arkadag, Uzak Ýasa’, ‘Kösgi-eýwan Gutly Bolsun, Arkadag’, and ‘Arkadag’ sounded particularly inspirational.
A grandiose fireworks display, traditionally put on to mark significant dates in our country’s history, illuminated the evening sky above the new hotel with fantastic clusters of rainbow-colored lights and provided a fitting finale to the festivities.
