President of Turkmenistan holds a meeting with heads of leading banks of the country

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a workshop with the participation of Chairman of the Central Bank Merdan Annadurdyev and Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs Rakhimberdy Dzheparov.

During the meeting, the key tasks facing the country's credit institutions, the financing of the socio-economic development program of Turkmenistan for 2019-2025 and the transition to the digital economy, as well as attracting investments for the implementation of economic projects were discussed.

At the meeting, it was noted that a set of measures is being taken in the country to ensure the stability of the national currency, the stability of the banking sector, the reliability of the payment system and the availability of financial services for citizens and also small and medium-sized businesses.

Also during the meeting, measures taken to expand the range of services provided through the international payment systems Visa and Mastercard were discussed.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, among the priority tasks facing banks, called attracting investment in leading sectors of the economy, primarily in the fuel and energy complex, agriculture, transport and communications sector and digitalization of economic sectors.

The head of state emphasized that today Turkmenistan maintains financial stability and there is steady growth dynamics in all sectors of the Turkmen economy.
