President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokaev, who arrived in Ashgabat to attend the summit of the heads of state of the CIS.
The presidents of the two countries praised the dynamics of the development of interstate dialogue based on the historical, cultural and spiritual proximity of the Turkmen and Kazakh peoples.
The interlocutors exchanged views on a wide range of Turkmen-Kazakh interaction and discussed the implementation of a number of interstate economic projects. The parties paid special attention to the prospects of building partnerships in such strategic areas as energy and transport.
Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev also noted the similarity of positions on many international issues and emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in ensuring global energy security and solving global environmental problems.
