President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Turkmenistan Mamuk Murdzhikneli, who presented his credentials to the head of state.
During the meeting, the head of state and the diplomat exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation. One of the priority areas of interstate cooperation was called the sphere of transport. The favorable geographical position of the two states and the common interests of the parties determine favorable conditions for creating multimodal transittransport corridors using the potentials of the Caspian and Black Sea regions.
Here, as an example is the transport corridor "Lazurit", passing along the route Afghanistan Turkmenistan Azerbaijan Georgia Turkey. The implementation of these projects opens up broad prospects for interregional integration and contributes to the development of trade and economic cooperation in the Eurasian space. Among the current areas of partnership was also named the energy sector.
Along with this, the relevance of expanding cooperation in the humanitarian and cultural sphere, where there are many years of experience in interaction and the possibility of building it up, was emphasized.
