President of Turkmenistan receives President of the Turkmen-Austrian Society

President of Turkmenistan received President of the Turkmen-Austrian Society, Dr. Neda Berger.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the guest congratulated the Turkmen leader on the upcoming International Day of Neutrality. As the head of the joint public organization, Dr. Neda Berger underlined that it was the great honour for her to contribute to the development of the favorable environment for building up interstate relations, including through cultural ties.

Warmly greeting Dr. Neda Berger and thanking for the commitment to increase cooperation through creative projects, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of the Turkmen-Austrian Society in strengthening friendly, business and creative relations between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Austria.

Speaking about the 25th anniversary of neutrality to be celebrated in 2020, the guest said that in honour of this significant date, which is of great importance not only in the life of the country, region, but the whole world, a large-scale cultural programme, including various creative events is prepared.

Noting that Dr. Neda Berger is a longtime friend of the Turkmen people, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that our state would always support the expansion of humanitarian contacts with Austria and with all interested partners and supported the continuation of the efficient practice of cooperation in the field of culture.

The President of Turkmenistan proposed to invite more Austrian artists and creative groups to Turkmenistan, to organize joint events so that the peoples of the two countries learn more about the modern culture of Turkmenistan and Austria.

Regarding the programme of the Austrian-Turkmen Society for the next year, the President proposed to hold the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Austria and organize the 5th Viennese Ball in Ashgabat on occasion of the 25th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan.

Expressing gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the concern about the work of the Society, Dr. Neda Berger underlined the keen interest of public and business circles in Austria in independent neutral Turkmenistan that has won the international authority and attracted attention with its significant achievements.

Expressing belief in the further successful continuation of the cultural dialogue between the two friendly states, the President of the Turkmen-Austrian Society addressed the President of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen people the wishes of happiness and prosperity.
