President of Turkmenistan: rejection of racism, xenophobia, and extremism is firmly embedded in the ideology of the sports movement

Speaking at the international sports congress in Avaza, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that today the rejection of racism, xenophobia, and extremism has become one of the slogans of world sports firmly embedded in the ideology of the international sports movement.

In Turkmenistan, it is brought up in people from childhood, in schools, universities, army units, manifested in the hospitality and goodwill of our compatriots in relation to representatives of foreign countries, regardless of their nationality or religion. Our country in practice confirms its adherence to the high humanistic ideals of the international sports movement.

Sport must become an important part of international cooperation, and make a significant contribution to the formation of an atmosphere of trust, respect and mutual understanding, the Turkmen leader underscored.

Athletes are the envoys of the world who, by their skill and will, in a fair fight, affirm the lofty ideals of Olympism, serve as an example for the youth, promote a healthy lifestyle, and form an active life position.
