President of Turkmenistan reports that the country “has ensured food security owing to the harvested wheat crops”

At the Cabinet session held on 5 July President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov reported that the wheat harvesting campaign is almost completed and the grain yield suggests that the country has ensured food security.

The grain surplus might be exported overseas, the head of state added.

The President did not specify how many tons of grainhave been harvested to date.

Let us recall that 1,600,000 tons of grain are expected to be harvested from 760 hectares in Turkmenistan this year.

On 28 June the state information agency TDH reported that over a million tons of grain had been delivered to Turkmenistan's procurement centers.
