Today, President of Turkmenistan has held a telephone talk with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
After reciprocal friendly greetings, the two countries' leaders expressed their satisfaction with the opportunity to consider the priority areas of Turkmen-Russian relations, built on an equal, constructive basis, and the principles of strategic partnership.
During the conversation, the head of the Russian Federation regretted that due to his tight schedule he could not pay a visit to Turkmenistan during his trip to Central Asia. In this regard, President Vladimir Putin assured his Turkmen counterpart that he would readily accept his invitation to pay a visit to our country.
Speaking of the Turkmen-Russian dialogue, the Presidents stressed the instrumental role of the joint Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation. Its 10th meeting has been held in Moscow this month and resulted in signing a number of documents, which focus on greater bilateral cooperation and its diversification.
The sides also exchanged opinions on a number of vital regional and global issues, having confirmed the two states' willingness to continue their constructive partnership within authoritative international organizations for universal peace, security and wellbeing.
The Turkmen leader once again invited his Russian counterpart to pay an official visit to Turkmenistan. The invitation was gratefully accepted. The timing of the visit would be negotiated via the diplomatic channels.
The telephone talk was held on the initiative of the Russian side.
