Presidents of Turkmenistan, Palestine hold talks in Ashgabat

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov met with President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, who arrived in Ashgabat on official visit, the president's press service said.

During vis-a-vis talks President Berdymuhamedov expressed confidence the visit will open a new page in bilateral relations, which develop since establishment of diplomatic ties back in spring 1992.

The heads of state exchanged views regarding prospects of bilateral cooperation.

Turkmenistan and Palestine will build long-term relations on bilateral basis and in the framework of international organizations.

During the extended talks, the countries reviewed relevant global issues, including strengthening of global security system.

Turkmenistan and Palestine have common views regarding consolidation of efforts in ensuring peace and sustainable development, President Berdymuhamedov underscored.

Mahmoud Abbas underlined productiveness of held talks. We are ready to work on all suggestions voiced by the Turkmen side, he said.

Mahmoud Abbsad invited President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov to visit Palestine.

Bilateral documents were signed following the extended talks.
