BAKU: The Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, Elnur Soltanov, announced a significant decline in the cost of solar panels, with prices falling by up to 90% over the past decade. This development has made renewable energy more accessible to citizens, who can now install solar systems with capacities of up to 100 kilowatts, enabling both energy production and consumption flexibility.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Deputy Minister explained that this capacity is substantial, as the average family typically requires only 4-5 kilowatts. The flexibility offered by these systems allows users to sell surplus energy back to the grid and purchase energy when their production falls short. Soltanov highlighted that this system is already operational in Azerbaijan, with numerous projects achieving success.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the profitability of solar energy, particularly in remote areas facing electricity supply challenges. He expressed optimism about the continued downward trend in solar pa
nel prices, predicting further success for renewable energy projects in the country.
