BISHKEK: The profit of Manas International Airport in Kyrgyzstan is on the rise, said the Chairman of the Cabinet of the Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Japarov, Trend reports. He made the statement during a ceremony marking the arrival of the first Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft from Canada purchased for Asman Airlines, a subsidiary of Manas International Airport. Japarov noted that while the net profit of the airport in 2019 was 2.108 billion soms (approximately $25 million), it surged to over 6 billion soms ($71.2 million) in 2023. He added that the company’s investment income amounted to 5.368 billion soms ($63.7 million), which enabled the purchase of two Q400 aircraft for Asman Airlines and one Beechcraft King Air 360 for Air KG using the company’s own funds. “We are also acquiring another Q400 aircraft. Additionally, we have achieved sustainable growth in passenger traffic on both domestic and international routes. In 2023, the total passenger flow reached 5.609 million. The growth in serviced pa ssengers at the country’s airports from 2021 to 2023 stands at 41 percent, rising from 3.98 million to 5.6 million,” Japarov said. Furthermore, he added that Manas International Airport has used its own funds to renovate regional airports in Karakol, Kazarman, Kerben, Talas, and Naryn, which has enabled the introduction of new flights to these regional airports.
