Prosecution Raids DAPA Over Alleged Leak of Military Secrets

The prosecution has raided the country's arms procurement agency as part of its probe into allegations that military secrets were leaked by an employee.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on Tuesday searched the office of an employee at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration(DAPA).

The employee, only identified by the surname Lee, is accused of leaking military secrets to multinational defense company BAE Systems.

A military official said that the prosecution found evidence of the leak while investigating irregularities in a project to improve the performance of KF-16 fighters.

An official at the prosecution refused to elaborate on details of the leaked military data, adding it was not confirmed yet whether the secrets were leaked out of the country.
