Prosecutors have begun to draft bills of indictment for Choi Soon-sil and former presidential secretaries An Chong-bum and Jeong Ho-seong as they plan to bring criminal charges by Sunday.
The special investigation team probing the Choi Soon-sil scandal was said to be discussing the matter on Saturday as well as whether to mention President Park Geun-hye as an accomplice.
It has been made known that prosecutors decided to mention Park as an accomplice in regards to Jeong's charge of leaking presidential documents.
The team is discussing whether this will be the case for charges against Choi and An related to forced fundraising for the controversial Mir and K-Sports foundations.
Prosecutors have tentatively decided to apply the abuse of authority charge on the president but without having questioned her yet, they are said to be contemplating over the wording of the charge.
Meanwhile, investigators are also questioning Choi's niece Jang Si-ho, who was arrested Friday on allegations of embezzling funds from the Korea Winter Sports Elite Center which she owns.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism gave 670 million won and Samsung Group one-point-six billion won to the center. Prosecutors are known to have secured circumstantial evidence that Jang funneled a considerable amount of the donation into her own pockets.
