Regular flights planned to be opened between Kutaisi and Bishkek

Bishkek, /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Georgia Kairat Osmonaliev held a meeting with Director of the Association of Airports of Georgia Irakli Karkashadze, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of launching regular flights between Kutaisi and Bishkek.

Irakli Karkashadze noted that Kutaisi International Airport is becoming more attractive for airlines due to the increase in passenger traffic. He emphasized the readiness of the Georgian Airports Association to support the development of direct air service between Georgia and Kyrgyzstan.

Following the meeting, both sides expressed hope for the successful implementation of this initiative.

In the first quarter of 2023, 3,432 visitors from Kyrgyzstan visited Georgia. In 2022, the number of visitors amounted to 14,218, which is 7% more than in 2019.
