Remains of First Karabakh War Martyr Yusif Mammadov Laid to Rest in Sumgayit

Sumgayit: The remains of Yusif Mirzali Mammadov, a martyr from the First Karabakh War, have finally been returned to his family, marking a significant moment of closure. Yusif Mammadov, who went missing in action, was laid to rest at the Sumgayit Martyrs' Alley following a farewell ceremony held in his honor.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Yusif Mammadov was born in 1972 in Sumgayit and died in the line of duty during battles around Kalbajar on February 7, 1994. After extensive investigations, it was determined that Yusif Mammadov had been previously buried at the Martyrs' Alley in Ganja, and his identity was verified, allowing for his return to Sumgayit.

The ceremony and burial in Sumgayit serve as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made during the First Karabakh War, bringing peace to the family of Yusif Mammadov after years of uncertainty.
