The system of institutes of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan has been reorganized. The relevant resolutions were signed by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Thus, by the decree of the head of state, the Makhtumkuli Institute of Language and Literature and the National Institute of Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences were combined, and the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Makhtumkuli of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan was created on their basis. According to the document, the new institute is defined as the successor of the Makhtumkuli Institute of Language and Literature and the National Institute of Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences.
By another decree of the head of state, the Institute of History and the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Academy of Sciences were combined, and the Institute of History and Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan was established on their basis. The newly created institute is determined by the successor of the Institute of History and the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Academy of Sciences.
The President of Turkmenistan signed a decree according to which the Institute of Biology and Medicinal Plants of the Academy of Sciences is divided into the Institute of General and Practical Biology, as well as the Institute of Medicinal Plants. In accordance with the document, the Institute of General and Practical Biology is transferred to the jurisdiction of the Oguzhan University of Engineering and Technology, and the Institute of Medicinal Plants is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry.
The President of Turkmenistan signed decrees according to which the Institute of Livestock and Veterinary Science of the Academy of Sciences in the prescribed manner transferred to the competence of the Turkmen Agricultural University, and the Institute of Solar Energy of the Academy of Sciences transferred to the competence of the State Energy Institute.
Also, by a presidential decree, the Agricultural Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan was transferred to the Turkmen Agricultural Institute and renamed the Agricultural Research and Production Center of this university.
