Representatives of Caspian states discuss the aspects of implementation of the Agreement on incident prevention in Caspian Sea

First meeting of the delegations of defence departments of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Russia on discussion of the subjects related to the implementation of the Agreement on prevention of incidents in Caspian Sea signed by the outcomes of the V Summit of the Heads of Caspian States in Aktau in August last year was held at the Caspian Institute of Maritime and River Transport in Astrakhan (Russian Federation) on April 22 � 24, 2019.

This document is aimed at the implementation of basic principles of cooperation and strengthening of stability in Caspian region. At the meeting, the sides confirmed high level of trust between the fleets of Caspian states as well as expressed the willingness to discuss the Draft Agreement on trust measures in Caspian Sea.

Director of the CIMRT Olga Kartashova made special mention of constructive efforts of Turkmenistan in strengthening of the Caspian Sea status as a sea of peace, friendship and harmony as well as the importance of the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan on the First Caspian Economic Forum in Avaza National tourist zone in August 2019.
