Representatives of the Caspian littoral countries discuss anti-poaching issues at sea in Ashgabat

The 4th meeting of authorized representatives of the Caspian littoral states began work at the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan to discuss a draft protocol on cooperation in the fight against illegal extraction of biological resources (poaching) in the Caspian Sea.

The two-day discussion was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Industry and Communication and the State Enterprise on the Caspian Sea under the President of Turkmenistan. The meeting is attended by experts from all five Caspian states - Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties discuss the text of the draft protocol, the definition of the competent authorities responsible for implementing the protocol, the mechanism, forms and framework for cooperation of the Caspian countries in the fight against poaching in the Caspian Sea.
