The agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Committee on Economic Cooperation was agreed upon at a meeting via video link by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation Rashid Meredov and the co-chairman of this committee from the Japanese side, Managing Director of Itochu Corporation Hiroyuki Tsubai, informs the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The co-chairs considered the issues of updating the Roadmap for cooperation in the field of infrastructure development with a focus on innovation and discussed preparations for the 14th meeting of the committee, which is scheduled for the end of the year. Approaches to the agenda of the meeting and documents being prepared for signing following its results were agreed upon.
During the meeting, the parties also noted that contacts at the highest and high levels play an important role in the development of interstate relations. In this context, the importance of the recent visit of the Turkmen delegation headed by the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan in September of this year was noted.
The interlocutors discussed the proposals and projects announced during this visit to expand trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan.
As expected, the 14th meeting of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee for Economic Cooperation will be held in Tokyo at the end of this year.
