Residents of Turkmenistan recommended celebrating Eid al-Adha at home because of “dust in the air”

The state-run information TDH reports that residents of Turkmenistan have been advised to celebrate Eid al-Adha at home because of harmful dust in the air.

“In connection with increased content of harmful dust particles in the air we recommend using medical masks, keeping safe social distancing of 2 meters, limiting mass events during the Eid al-Adha and holding celebration ceremonies at home”, – the message says.

This year Turkmenistan is marking Eid al-Adha on 1 and 2 August.

Let us recall that in early July, 2020, the next day after the WHO experts kicked off their visit to Turkmenistan, Turkmenistan’s Healthcare Ministry unexpectedly identified a surge in the dust in the air in Ashgabat and velayats of Turkmenistan. In this connection residents were recommended to wear disposable face masks, wash hands and rinse a nose.
