Review of price fluctuations for groceries and other merchandise

Chronicles of Turkmenistan continues to monitor price fluctuations at Ashgabat grocery markets.

After the summer set in, prices for vegetables saw a considerable decrease: by 34,5% from March to June and by 51% since the start of the year.

The price for potatoes went up from 4 to 4,8 manats (+20%).

The price for cucumbers and tomatoes dropped down from 7 and 8 to 3 and 6 manats respectively (57% and 25%).

The price for aubergines plummeted from 10 to 2,5 manats (75%).

The price for bell pepper plummeted from 10 to 3 manats (70%).

The price for beets slightly increased from 1,8 to 2 manats.

The price for carrots went up from 2 to 3 manats (+50%).

Onions saw a price decrease from 3 to 1,8 manats (40%).

In the course of three months prices for fruit have increased by 10% on average. The markets as well as staterun stores are still selling apples, pears, oranges and kiwi at reduced prices.

The price for bananas saw a sharp decrease from 22 to 9 manats (59%).

The price for green and red apples (produced in Iran) soared from 8 to 15 manats (+87,5%).

The price for green and red apples (produced in Turkey) went down from 22 to 20 manats (9%).

Oranges saw a price hike from 9 to 14 manats (+55,5%).

The price for kiwi increased from 9 to 16 manats (+77,8%).

The price for pears went up from 10 to 12 manats (+20%).

Watermelons and melons are now being sold at the markets at the price of 1,5 and 3 manats respectively.

The price for canned goods increased by 10%.

The price for RITA canned pineapples went up from 24 to 25 manats (+4%).

RITA green peas saw a slight price increase from 12 to 13 manats (+8,5%).

The price for Rita canned corn went up from 13 to 14 manats (+8%).

Makareno (370 ml) olives still cost 17.00 manats.

The price for Rita canned champignons increased from 20 to 21 manats (+5%).

Condensed milk is still sold at 12 manats.

The price for canned sprats in oil (190 g) went up from 16 to 20 manats (+25%).

The price for pickled cucumbers (Turkmenistan, 0,72 l) has not changed and still costs 6 manats.

Prices for cereals and pasta remain the same.

The price for Russianmade pasta has remained the same and is sold at 9 manats.

The price for a kilo of Turkmenistanmade pasta dropped down from 5 to 4 manats (20%).

The price for a 500gram pack of Ankara pasta still costs 16 manats.

The price for peas has not changed and is sold at 9 manats.

Buckwheat has not seen any price fluctuation and is available at the price of 9 manats.

The price for moong dal went up from 12 to 13 manats (+8,3%).

Local rice (grown in Dashoguz) saw a price drop from 11 to 9 manats.

The price for red beans decreased from 23 to 20 manats (13%).

The price for semolina increased from 7 to 9 manats (+28,5%).

The price for cheese has not changed considerably.

The price for Gouda cheese went down from 72 to 70 manats (2,8%).

The price for Viola cheese spread (150 grams) soared from 14 to 29 manats (+107%).

The price for cheese Cheese dynasty went down from 180 to 150 manats (17%).

The price forRussian cheese increased from 120 to 130 manats (+8,3%).

Processed cheese Viola (150 grams) saw a price drop from 18 to 14 manats (22%).

The price for Black prince cheese has remained unchanged and is sold at 180 manats.

Over the past three months prices for flour saw a slight growth of 2%.

The price for a kilo of Kazakhstanproduced flour went up from 6 to 7 manats (+16,6%).

A kilo of Turkmenistanproduced flour (premium grade) still costs 3 manats.

The price for a kilo of Russian flour went up from 7 to 8 manats (+14,3%).

The price for a 1 kilo pack of UNO flour slightly dropped down from 10 to 9,6 manats (4%).

The price for a 2kilo pack of NUR flour went down from 19 to 18 manats (5,2%).

A 5 kilo sack of Pioneer flour still costs 50 manats.

The price for a 2 kilo pack of Tsar flour has remained the same and still costs 18 manats.

Prices for vegetable oil saw an average decrease of approximately 5,5%.

The price for a 1 liter bottle of Oleinaoil went up from 11 to 13 manats (+18%).

The price for a 1 liter bottle of Rossiyanka oil increased from 12 to 13 manats (+8,3%).

The price for a 5 liter bottle of Oleinaoil went up from 55 to 60 manats (+9%).

Vegetable oil on tap still costs 8 manats.

The price for Saratovmargarine produced in Russia (150 grams) saw a price drop from from 2 to 2.5 manats (22%).

The price for President butter (82%, 200g) has remained the same and is sold at 34 manats.

Prices for dairy products remain unchanged.

Sour cream Elin (500 g) is still sold at 7 manats.

The price for Gaymak ayran (1 liter) went up from 5.5 to 6 manats (+9%).

The price for 1% Garpalyk butter milk (1 liter) dropped down from 8 to 7 manats (2,5%).

The price for Dorag 9% curd (250 grams) went down from 7 to 5 manats (28,5%).

The price for TekSut milk (1 liter) increased from 13 to 15 manats (+15,4%).

The price for Nestle milk (1 liter) went up from 13 to 15 manats (+15,4%).

Homemade milk (1.5 liters) still costs 6 manats.

Over the course of three months the price for meat went up by approximately 6%.

The price for boned beef dropped down from 22 to 20 manats (9%).

The price for a leg of lamb has remained stable at 25 manats.

The price for minced meat (grade 2) has remained the same and costs 22 manats.

The priceminced meat (grade 1) went down from 30 to 28 manats (6,6%).

The price for chicken dropped down from 15 to 13 manats (13,3%).

The price for chicken drumsticks increased from 8 to 10 manats (+25%).

Coffee saw a price hike of 2% over the course of three months.

MacCofee (20 grams) still costs 2 manats.

The price for Jacobs coffee (1,8 g) remained unchanged at 2 manats.

The price for a 190 gram pack of Jacobs coffee dropped down from 70 to 68 manats (2,8%).

The price for a 100 gram jar of Nescafe coffee increased from 43 to 46 manats (+7%).

The price for Carte noire coffee (95 grams) has remained unchanged at 40 manats.

The price for CoffeeCreme coffee (100 grams) dropped down from 50 to 49 manats (2%).

The price for Moscow coffee (90 grams) decreased from 32 to 28 manats (12,5%).

Soft drinks saw a price hike of 8%, whereas prices for alcoholic beverageswent down by an average of 1,5%.

Tea beverage Akdas (5 liters) still costs 2 manats.

The price for Gosa Cynar drink (5 liters) has remained unchanged at 4 manats.

The price for a 1,5 liter bottle of Tolkun sparkling drinkwent up from 3 to 3,5 manats (+16,6%).

A 1 liter bottle of Jos juice still costs 8 manats.

The price for Ecil juice (1 liter) went up from 10 to 11 manats (+10%).

The price for a 0,5 liter bottle of Lipton iced tea (Turkmenistanmade) went up from 2,2 to 2,5 manats (+13,6%).

The price for a 1 liter bottle of sugarfree Cocacola soared from 10 to 15 manats (+50%).

The price for standard CocaCola (1 liter) increased from 20 to 25 manats (+25%).

The price for a 0,5 liter bottle forArassa vodka (white label) dropped down from 32 to 24 manats (25%).

The price for a 0,5 liter bottle forArassa vodka (yellow label) went down from 25 to 24 manats (4%).

A 1 liter bottle of TurkmenKonyagy cognac is still sold at 45 manats.

The price for a 1 liter bottle of Garagebewulcognac increased from 45 to 50 manats (+11%).

The price for a 0,7 liter bottle of Kagor wine went up from 20 to 22 manats(+10%).

The price for a 0,5 liter bottle of Berk beer decreased from 11 to 10 manats (9%).

Zip beer (0,5 l ) is still sold at 8 manats.

Zip beer (5 liters) still costs 16 manats.

Berk beer (5 liters) is still available at 18 manats.

The prices for household appliances have remained unchanged.

The price for Toshiba Stor.E Basic 1TB external hard drive has remained stable at 980 manats.

The price for Samsung J5 Prime 2016 smartphone remains unchanged at 3300 manats.

The price for Samsung Galaxy TABA tablet (Model: SMT285) dropped down from 2580 to 2500 manats (3%).

The price for LG Smart TV 43 (Model: 43LF631) dropped down from 6100 to 6050 manats (0,8%).

DVDplayer LG (Model: DP132H) still costs 680 manats.

Samsung vacuum cleaner (Model: VCC4520S3R) still costs 1150 manats.

The price for WiFiTPLink router (Model: TDW8968) has remained unchanged and is sold at 480 manats.

The price for LG 5 KG washing machine (model: F0J5LN3W) went down from 5900 to 5700 manats (3,4%).

Miscellaneous

The price for chicken eggs in staterun stores soared from 0,33 to 0,45 manats (+36,3%). In privatelyowned shops they are still sold at 0,70 manats.

The price for lemons increased from 3 to 4 manats (+33,3%).

NUR mayo (1000 ml) still costs 17 manats.

The price for Moscow mayo (800 ml) went down from 24 to 23 manats (4%).

The price for Provansal mayo (800 ml) increased from 21 to 22 manats (+4,8%).

The price for sugar in staterun stored increased from 7 to 8 manats (+14,3%). In privatelyowned retail outlets it also saw an increase of 11%, from 9 to 10 manats.

HomePlus detergent still costs 8 manats.

Shauma shampoo (380 ml) is still available at 37 manats.

Daily feminine hygiene products Molped (40 pcs) are still sold at 27 manats
