Correspondents of Chronicles of Turkmenistan report that long queues have formed in front of petrol filling stations in Dashoguz earlier today.
Car owners, frightened by rumours that starting from 1 March the petrol price will double, increasing from 1.5 to 3 manats per liter, are lining up at filling stations.
For example, a huge queue of over a kilometer formed on the roadside at the filling station located at the entrance to the city from the direction of the airport.
A similar situation is being observed at fillin stations located near the petroleum storage depot and at the exit from Dashoguz towards Kunyaurgench.
Petrol station staff are unable to provide any comments pertaining to the upcoming price hike. The official authorities have not made any announcements on the price increase for petrol. This uncertainty only causes a bigger boom.
Let us recall that on 1 February the price for petrol in Turkmenistan increased from 1 to 1.5 manats per liter. Then, as now, there had been no preliminary announcements or reports on the petrol price increase.
