Russian Deputy Minister: Issue regarding Vardanyan, Saakyan and others should be resolved between Baku and Yerevan

The issue of the arrest of the separatists' leaders in the Garabagh should be resolved between Baku and Yerevan since the detainees are citizens of Armenia, said Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Galuzin in response to a question regarding the detention of the former "leaders" of the so-called organization by Azerbaijan and whether Moscow is ready to take any action specifically regarding Ruben Vardanyan, APA reports.

The Deputy Minister stressed that the issue regarding arresting of Vardanyan, Saakyan and others should be resolved between the authorities of Azerbaijan and Armenia: "I can say in the most general way that we are primarily talking about citizens of Armenia or people who have voluntarily renounced Russian citizenship. Therefore, these issues should be addressed first of all between Armenia, these persons are citizens of, and the authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan. I would like to draw your attention to an important point that I did not mention. This is the moment when the official Yerevan at some stage began to say that it has nothing to do with the fate of Garabagh Armenians and that all related issues should be addressed within the dialogue between the Armenian representatives of Garabagh and the Azerbaijani authorities. Unfortunately, this has happened. I draw your attention to this fact."
