Baku: The premise where the "Russian House" operates in Baku is being vacated, APA reports. Employees of the "Russian House" are currently in the process of removing paintings from the walls and carrying away their belongings.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the "Russian House" in Baku issued a statement today. The statement indicates that, in response to a request from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the "Russian House" representative office in Baku, known as "Rossotrudnichestvo," is taking steps to suspend its activities. Additionally, the Russian-language signage at the center's location in Baku has been taken down.
Azerbaijan recently sent a formal note to Russia concerning the cessation of the "Russian House's" activities. The note was prompted by the revelation that the Russian Information and Cultural Center, operating as "Russian House" and representing "Rossotrudnichestvo" in Azerbaijan, lacked proper registration as a legal entity and was in serious violation of Azerbaijani law. Consequently, on February 3, 2025, Azerbaijan notified Russia of the termination of "Russian House's" operations.
