On April 14, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov , who is on a working trip to the Balkan velayat, held an off-site meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the development of the region, the state information agency TDH reports .
Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov, who is in charge of the construction, industrial and energy complex, reported on the work of the polymer plant in Kiyanly, where chemicals are produced. Since many specialists working in production come from other parts of the country, the Deputy Prime Minister submitted a proposal for the construction of residential buildings for 472 families in the Guvlymayak village of the Turkmenbashi etrap for consideration by the head of state.
In response, the president instructed to bring industrial and construction enterprises to full capacity and fill the domestic market with import-substituting industrial and construction products.
Then, Deputy Prime Minister for Trade Chary Gylydzhov said that 14 projects would be implemented in the region in such areas as growing vegetables, grapes and orchards, building livestock and poultry complexes, greenhouses and cold stores. He submitted for consideration by the head of state a list of facilities that will be built in the region within seven years - 2022-2028.
Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers Mammetkhan Chakiev reported on the preparations for the laying ceremony of a complex of residential buildings for workers in the transport and communications industry in the city of Turkmenbashi. In particular, five four-story houses with 60 apartments each will be built in the city.
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic, Banking and International Financial Organizations Muhammetguly Mukhammedov reported on the directions of socio-economic development of the region in the framework of the preparation of the Presidential Development Program for the country for 7 years.
The main directions of development of the western region include:
• modernization of the oil and gas, oil refining, chemical, energy, mining sectors, light industry and the building materials industry by attracting large investments in all areas;
• efficient use of the potential of the Kazakhstan–Turkmenistan–Iran railway, the seaport in Turkmenbashi, the transport and logistics system, and an increase in the volume of transit cargo transportation;
• entry of the airport in the village of Jebel;
• development of the sanatorium and tourism sectors and improvement of the quality of services;
• construction of kindergartens, schools, hospitals and housing;
• creation of new jobs.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to increase the level of socio-economic development of the Balkan velayat, to master investments in a timely manner and put new production facilities into operation.
Deputy Prime Minister Shakhym Abdrakhmanov , who is in charge of the oil and gas industry, was instructed to accelerate prospecting and exploration activities in the coastal promising areas of the Caspian Sea, to discover and develop new fields with the involvement of the private sector and foreign investment.
In addition, officials were instructed to provide in the Presidential Program for measures for the comprehensive development of the country's regions, the creation of modern complexes and additional jobs.
Recall that at a Cabinet meeting on March 25, Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered the vice-premiers to develop a Presidential program for the development of the state for the next seven years and submit it for consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers.
