On April 18, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting, the state information agency TDH reports .
Hyakim of the city of Ashgabat Rakhim Gandimov reported on the improvement of the capital, the implementation of the instruction to accelerate the construction of various facilities, the creation of green areas and the work of public services.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov "focused attention" on the work of retail outlets and gave a number of instructions "to improve the quality and cultural level of public services."
The heads of the regions also reported on the progress of construction of facilities in the velayats, cotton sowing, growing potatoes and onions, as well as the production of silkworm cocoons.
The President ordered to fight weeds and pests in the fields, ensure food abundance, and prepare for the National Day of the Turkmen Horse. This year it falls on April 24; the main celebrations are planned in the Balkan velayat.
Deputy Prime Minister Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev, who is in charge of the agro-industrial complex, reported separately on the production of cocoons: silkworm caterpillars are cared for in Akhal, Lebap and Mary velayats, grena has been harvested in Balkan velayat and distributed among silkworm breeders, and caterpillars will be cared for on April 26 in Dashoguz velayat.
The head of state ordered the successful implementation of the plan for the production of cocoons.
Recall that this year the plan for the production of silkworm cocoons was increased from 2100 tons to 2300 tons.
At low prices set by the state, it is unprofitable to grow silkworm caterpillars and there are no people willing to do this voluntarily. For this reason, employees of rural schools and land tenants who grow cotton and wheat are obliged to produce cocoons.
According to the Chronicles of Turkmenistan, in 2020, only 30% of cocoons were grown in the country from the planned plan.
