Schools in Kyrgyzstan lack 300 teachers

There is a shortage of 300 teachers in the country’s schools. The Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Kanybek Imanaliev announced at the traditional August pedagogical conference.

According to him, if in 2020 general education institutions lacked about 3,000 teachers, now there are about 300 of them. The official added that the staffing of schools continues.

Kanybek Imanaliev gave an example when some remote villages lack teachers of English and computer science.

The minister also noted that the interest in the teaching profession among young people is growing. In 2023, the number of those wishing to enter the teaching field increased by 12 percent.
