Tehran: Security in the South Caucasus is important for Iran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei said this at a press conference today, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, when responding to a question about the visit of Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, to Azerbaijan and Armenia last week, Baghaei noted that Ahmadian's visit to Baku and Yerevan was planned and implemented in advance.
The spokesman emphasized that Iran considers relations with both Azerbaijan and Armenia important. He highlighted that security in the South Caucasus is a priority for Iran, and the nation is committed to using all opportunities to strengthen security in the region. Baghaei stressed that security should be ensured by the countries within the region, without foreign interference.
