Selt covered dozens of villages in western Turkmenistan

The administrative center of the etrap (district) Bereket and about a dozen villages in the Balkan velayat (region) of Turkmenistan suffered from a mudflow, reports Azatlyk Radio .

According to the radio, dozens of houses and state institutions suffered in the administrative center, dozens of families were forced to leave their homes, Bereket railway station was closed. Evacuated residents temporarily housed in local educational institutions.

Recall that the next day a warning was announced to the Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan, Begench Gundogdyev , and his deputy, the head of the Main Department of Civil Defense and Rescue Work, Dovran Durdyyev, was reprimanded by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov . Both penalties were received for untimely taking measures to organize the necessary work related to the prevention of mudflow and improper performance of official duties.
