On May 18, Turkmenistan celebrated the Day of the Constitution and the State Flag. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the celebrations , the state information agency TDH reports .
The wreath-laying ceremony was held at the monument to the Constitution. This year there were two wreaths: one on behalf of the president, the second on behalf of the parliament.
Flowers, bowing to the monument, and then to the president, were also laid by members of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of law enforcement agencies, ministers and foreign diplomats.

As the TDH writes, "the main Law of Turkmenistan is a reliable guarantor of the rights and freedoms of citizens , a solid legal foundation for progressive reforms and socio-economic transformations."
According to the same scenario, the celebrations continued at the 133-meter flagpole, to which the head of state and other officials also laid wreaths and flowers.
In the evening, celebrations were held in the Ashgabat Concert Hall. Celebrations were also held in other velayats of the country.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the establishment of the State Flag. The last time changes and additions to the country's basic law were made in 2020: a bicameral parliament was created.
On March 1 this year, at a meeting with members of the Halk Maslakhaty of the first convocation, with deputies of the Mejlis, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that Turkmen legislation "is constantly being improved in accordance with the requirements of the era", and also stated the need to further improve the Constitution "in accordance with the development tasks state in the era of the Renaissance of a new era of a powerful state.
