On December 20, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic, Banking and International Financial Organizations Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar in Ashgabat , the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports .
The parties discussed cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, in the field of industry, transport and communications, in particular, the expansion of international and regional road, rail and sea transportation with the involvement of the public and private sectors of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
On the same day, the 11th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation was held. It is co-chaired from the Turkmen side by the Deputy Prime Minister for Trade Chary Gylydzhov , and from the Kazakh side by Roman Sklyar.
The oil and gas and transport and communication sectors were named as priority areas of cooperation, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Based on the results of the Commission’s work, a final protocol was signed.
On the platform of today’s IGC, bilateral meetings of heads and representatives of ministries and departments of the two countries were also held.
