President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to explain to the population through the media - newspapers and television - when and where it is necessary to wear a medical mask, and in what places it can be removed. This was reported by the state news agency TDH .

The instruction was given at a Cabinet meeting on June 11 to Deputy Prime Minister for Science and Education, Health and Sports Sapardurdy Toylyev .

It should be noted that even at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on May 6, it was announced that from June 1, the mandatory wearing of medical masks on the streets is cancelled. Now they need to be worn only in transport and enclosed spaces.

However, as the “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” wrote , the inhabitants of the country wear masks out of habit. Some are not aware of the loosening of the mask regime, others are still afraid that the police will fine them. Apart from one broadcast of the meeting, at which it was decided to ease coronavirus restrictions, the authorities did not inform the population about the decision.

In a note published on June 7 in the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper, the Ministry of Health explicitly stated for the first time that masks were no longer required to be worn outdoors.
