The state information agency TDH reports that on 30 March pursuant to the Presidential decree Serdar G. Berdymukhammedov was appointed Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan.

Let us recall that later that day the results of Turkmenistan's Parliamentary elections were published. Serdar Berdymukhammedov received 25.700 votes or 91,42%.

Pursuant to article 87 of Turkmenistan's Constitution, a member of the Mejlis cannot shall not concurrently hold the post of a Cabinet member, khyakim, Archyn (village leader), judge, and prosecutor.

Lawyer Timur Misrikhanov provided comment for Chronicles of Turkmenistan: Formally Deputy Foreign Minister is not a member of the Cabinet of Ministers and there are no violations. However, in many countries it is legally prohibited to combine work in the executive and legislation branches, which results in the conflict of interests. The separation of powers is committed to differentiating and balancing the authority of government agencies.
