Today, September 22, the son of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic, Banking and International Financial Organizations Serdar Berdimuhamedov, turns 40 - this is the age from which a citizen of Turkmenistan has the right to nominate himself for the presidency of the country.
Having first appeared on television in the fall of 2016, when he was elected a member of parliament, over the past five years, the current deputy prime minister has made a rapid political career, having worked in the highest positions in the country's Foreign Ministry, in the khyakimlik of the Akhal velayat, in the Cabinet of Ministers and the Security Council.
Officially, Serdar's intention to become head of state in the future was not announced, but there is no doubt that he will become Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's successor.
