As South Koreans wait to hear when President Park Geun-hye will be questioned by prosecutors, her spokesperson ensured that she will cooperate with the investigation.
In the wake of the president's attorney's request to delay the investigation on his client, Presidential Spokesman Jung Youn-kuk on Thursday reminded reporters of Park's pledge during her national address two weeks ago.
The spokesman, however, refused to further elaborate on the schedule with the prosecution, saying it is a matter that Park's counsel must sort out.
Amid uncertainties surrounding the prosecution's unprecedented investigation of an incumbent president, an official at the special probe team said that it will become difficult to hold an in-person session with the president during the weekend.
The official explained that the prosecution could resort to indicting Choi Soon-sil without hearing the president's accounts.
