SPORTS COMPETITIONS DEDICATED TO THE DAY OF DIPLOMATIC WORKERS OF TURKMENISTAN WERE HELD

On February 15 16, 2020, sports events were held with the participation of the teams of diplomatic missions of foreign countries, representative offices of international organizations accredited in Ashgabat and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, traditionally dedicated to the Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan. This significant date was established by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan in 2009.

This year, our country celebrates an anniversary date the 25th anniversary of its neutral status, and therefore these competitions were held under the slogan "Turkmenistan the homeland of Neutrality."

The competition was organized in three sports: a 400 meters mass race, billiards and basketball in a 3 + 3 format.

A mass race took place on a treadmill around the football field of Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli. The children of diplomats were the first to enter the treadmill, followed by a woman's 400 meter race and completed the men's tournament.

The tournament in Russian billiards and Pool was held in the cultural and entertainment center Altyn Yildiz. In the game of Russian billiards, the first place went to the representative of the Embassy of Russia. The representative of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy excelled in a variety of billiards called Pool.

The prize places in the basketball competitions in the 3 + 3 format, which took place in the sports complex of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, were distributed as follows: the team of the Embassy of Belarus won the first place, the team of the US Embassy took the second place, and the team of the Embassy of the Russian Federation took third place.

The winners of the above tournaments were awarded with diplomas of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan, as well as valuable prizes from the respective federations of the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan expresses its gratitude to the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy of Turkmenistan, the National federations of billiards, track and field athletics and basketball, Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as the cultural and entertainment center "Altyn Yildiz" for their assistance in organizing these tournaments.
