Strengthening measures to identify fraudulent excise stamps

In January of this year, the Inspectorate for regulation of the alcohol and tobacco market carried out quality control checks of alcohol products in 29 retail outlets in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Andijan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Samarkand, Tashkent, Ferghana and Khorezm regions.

During the control works the following cases were identified:

Sale of alcoholic beverages at 9 retail outlets is carried out without permission document for retail sale of alcoholic beverages;

Sales of alcohol in the Chiyali market in the Kashkadarya region were carried out without the availability of feasible outlets and permission document. The quality control works revealed that alcohol beverages worth fraudulent excise stamps were sold in the market.

In addition, 58 alcohol beverages out of 61 selectively bought in certain regions were labelled with suspicious excise stamps. During the examination of these products, the State Unitary Enterprise Davlat Belgisi came to the conclusion that the excise stamps are fake.

The representatives of State Tax bodies will work on strengthening the control over the above cases and espond accordingly within two weeks.

Drinking alcohol labeled with fake excise stamps can be extremely harmful for health. After all, we should remember that health is our top priority.
