Tajikistan puts more money on table for construction of Rogun HPP

DUSHANBE: Tajikistan has allocated additional funds from its budget for the completion of the Rogun hydropower plant, Trend reports. According to a government decree, the Ministry of Finance has been instructed to transfer 40 million somoni (approximately $3.8 million) from the national budget to the Stabilization Fund for Economic Development to increase the authorized capital of Rogun Hydropower Plant OJSC. The Tajik government had previously directed the Ministry of Finance to allocate 77.5 million somoni (about $7.3 million) to boost the authorized capital of Rogun Hydropower Plant OJSC in May 2024. The Rogun HPP, a 3,600-MW hydroelectric power station currently under construction on the Vakhsh River, plans to install six units, each with a capacity of 600 MW. Two units are currently operational, with the third expected to be fully commissioned by 2025. The Rogun HPP is anticipated to generate over 17 billion kWh annually upon full construction and will feature a dam with a height of 335 meters. Sour ce: Trend News Agency
