Tajikistan, Turkmenistan sign protocol on trade, economic, and scientific-technical co-op

DUSHANBE: A protocol of the thirteenth meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan has been signed, Trend reports. The meeting was chaired by Tajikistan's Deputy Prime Minister Sulaimon Ziyozoda, and Turkmenistan's Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Atakhaliyev Tangriguly. During the discussions, the parties reviewed the current status and prospects for trade and economic cooperation, focusing on stimulating trade between the two countries, as well as enhancing connections in transport and communications, energy, and water resources. Topics also included industry and construction, agriculture, education and science, healthcare, the medical industry, civil aviation, and the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, youth and sports. The meeting emphasized the need for further expansion of the legal framework governing bilateral relations. As a result of the meeting, both sides expressed t heir commitment to enhancing trade, economic, scientific-technical, and cultural cooperation. Source: Trend News Agency
